Breakfast Club
Our ‘Grub Bugs’ Breakfast Clubs provide childcare before school during term time for children aged 4 – 11 years within London based primary schools. Our Breakfast Clubs have become an invaluable resource for schools which not only helps to improve children’s physical health by promoting and encouraging healthy eating but also supports children in their studies whilst providing opportunities for social development. Our menu’s provide the first vital energy boost of the day and are designed to support working families and parents who have limited time in the mornings to provide a healthy balanced breakfast.
The activities we provide in ‘Grub Bugs’ Breakfast Clubs are designed with ‘built-in’ learning opportunities that support children through the 5 Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes. The range of stimulating activities offered revolve around building confidence and self esteem which we achieve through themed projects, creative arts & crafts, physical activities and numeracy & literacy games. These activities encourage children to develop key learning skills and gain a sense of personal achievement.
Research has found that breakfast clubs provide both immediate and long term benefits for children by helping to improve children’s memory, concentration, visual perception and problem solving abilities. Children who eat a balanced and nutritious breakfast everyday develop healthy eating habits in childhood. Once formed, these habits then grow into positive eating patterns in adulthood.
